Born:  August 26, Somanesti, Gorj County, Romania
Education:  Graduated from Bucharest University (1967).

Professional career:
Since 1969 - Scientific career at Bucharest.
1977 - Laureate of the Prize of the Romanian Academy of Sciences.
1974 Ц 1975 - Assistant AMA, Departement de Physique de la Matiere Condensee, Universite de Geneve, Switzerland
1979 - 1983 - Scientist and Senior Scientist in the Laboratory of Theoretical Physics, JINR, Dubna
1980 - Doctor of Science degree at the Central Institute of Physics, Bucharest.
1991 - 1996 - Associated ICTP, Trieste.
Since 1993 - Member of American Mathematical Society.
1996 - Principal Scientist at IFIN-HH, Bucharest.
Since 1997 - Member of Association of Computing Machinery.
1997 - 2002 - Senior Associate Member of ICTP, Trieste (Italy).
1997 - 2003 - Professor at Nuclear Physics Chair of Department of Physics University of Bucharest. Delivered lectures on Experimental Data Processing, Basics of Informatics, Programming Languages.

Research interests:
Mathematical and computational methods for modeling processes in solid bodies, fresh approaches to discretization and solution of the problems of numerical analysis and software for data processing. Up-to-date programming techniques using multi-core and hybrid computing platforms

Publications:
1974 - Superconductivity in transition metals (with M. Peter),
1976, 1978, 1980 - Perturbative numerical methods for solving radial Schroedinger equation and their application to channeling radiation estimates (1981)
1991 - Product integration by Clenshaw-Curtis like methods
1977, 1981, 1985 - Crystal fields and magnetic anisotropy in rare earth intermetallics.
Fermi surface recognition in positron spectroscopy data on 123 high critical temperature superconductors (1993 - with M. Peter, 1995, 1999).
2003 - Exchange and spin fluctuation mechanisms of high Tc superconductivity (with N.M. Plakida).
2003 - Bayesian numerical quadrature.
Author of more than 200 scientific papers in the above-mentioned fields
Prizes and awards:
Constantin Miculescu Prize of the Romanian Academy (1977); Honorary Diploma of the Government of the Moscow Region (2011).
