The BM@N scientific program comprises studies of dense nuclear matter created in heavy-in collisions. In this talk data on the interactions of carbon-ion beams with kinetic energies of 4.0A GeV and 4.5A GeV with C, Al, Cu, and Pb targets will be presented. Transverse momentum, rapidity spectra, and yields of Λ hyperons were measured. The results are compared with the predictions of theoretical models and with results of measurements of Λ yields in other experiments at similar collision energies.
