Amirkhanov Ilkizar Valievich 06.01.1943 – 20.07.2024 On July 20, 2024, Ilkizar Valievich Amirkhanov, candidate of physico-mathematical sciences, who worked for many years in the Scientific Division of Computational Physics of the M.G. Meshcheryakov Laboratory of Information Technologies, passed away. I.V. Amirkhanov was born on January 6, 1943 in the Tashkent city. In 1965 he graduated from the Faculty of Physics of the Tashkent State University. He worked at JINR since 1967, first in the LTP and then in the LСTA (MLIT). In 1969 he successfully defended his PhD thesis. For more than 25 years he was the head of the sector No. 3 of methods for solving mathematical physics problems of the Division of Computational Physics of the MLIT. At the initial stage of his work at JINR, I.V.Amirkhanov was engaged in research in the field of the theory of multichannel nuclear reactions, development of methods for solving the Fadeev equations in coordinate representation and the inverse problem of quantum mechanics. Together with the staff of the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Moscow State University, he carried out important studies of the dynamics of charged particles in inhomogeneous magnetic fields. Further scientific activity of Ilkizar Valievich was connected with the study of nonlinear models of polaron, bipolaron, binuclone, quarkonium. The developed approaches allowed to obtain significant physical results for these models. Researches in the field of mathematical modeling of thermal and thermoelastic processes arising in condensed media under the action of high-energy ions and powerful pulsed beams of charged particles, carried out jointly with colleagues from FLNR, were awarded the second prize of JINR (2008). In 2013, the second JINR Prize in the field of scientific and technical applied research was awarded to the work of Ilkizar Valievich, co-authored with colleagues from DLNP and other organizations, "Implementation of the operation mode of the cyclotron AIC-144 (Poland), intended for the treatment of eye melanoma." I.V.Amirkhanov is the author and co-author of 240 scientific papers. Under his supervision 8 Ph.D. theses were defended. Fruitful work of I.V. Amirkhanov was awarded with well-deserved awards - the medal “In Memory of the 850th Anniversary of Moscow”, the departmental distinction in the work "Veteran of nuclear energy and Industry", JINR’s Certificate of Honor, JINR’s Honorary Diploma and Letter of Gratitude from JINR. In 2011, Ilkizar Valievich was awarded the title “Honorary JINR Employee”. Ilkizar Valievich proved to be a highly qualified specialist in the field of research of models of complex physical systems. Tactful and friendly attitude to people, responsiveness and modesty gained I.V.Amirkhanov the respect of his colleagues. A bright memory of him will remain in the hearts of those who knew him, worked and communicated with him. The staff of the M.G. Meshcheryakov Laboratory of Information Technologies expresses sincere sympathy and condolences to the family and friends of Ilkizar Valievich.
