ASTAKHOV Anatoly Yakovlevich 21.09.1936 – 15.10.2024 On October 15, 2024, Anatoly Yakovlevich Astakhov, a leading engineer at the M.G. Meshcheryakov Laboratory of Information Technologies (MLIT), Candidate of Technical Sciences, died. Astakhov A.Ya. was born on September 21, 1936 in the city of Nevinnomysk, Stavropol Territory. Astakhov A.Ya. began his career at JINR in 1960 at LTP, after graduating from MEPhI, and moved to LCTA (MLIT) in 1967 as a senior engineer. In 1974, he was appointed to the position of head of the group. From 1985 to 1994, Astakhov A.Ya. - Scientific secretary of LCTA (MLIT), since 1995 he has been a senior researcher, since 2011 he has worked as a leading engineer. All scientific activity of Astakhov A.Ya. is connected with research, development and creation of measuring and control systems on line with a computer. He participated in the creation of the first JINR data processing system based on the M-20 and Minsk-22 computers, and was engaged in the creation of electronic equipment for camera image processing devices. Based on the results of these works, he defended his PhD thesis in 1983. Astakhov A.Ya. was engaged in the research and implementation of a scanning control system on a fouriemicroscope; copyright certificates were obtained for a number of technical solutions of this system. He participated in the creation of a gas mixture control system for the Neutrino Detector installation. The created electronic equipment has been used in the NIS experiment on the LHEP nuclotron since 2008. Astakhov A.Ya. took part in the work on the creation of a scanning station for the nuclear photoemulsion experiment "OPERA". Recently, Anatoly Yakovlevich has been busy optimizing circuit design solutions for some of the station's nodes, as well as scanning control algorithms. As part of the NA61 collaboration participated in the modernization of the time-of-flight sub-detector developed at JINR in 1995. During his time at the Institute, Anatoly Yakovlevich has established himself as a highly qualified specialist, had more than 60 scientific papers, as well as 5 author's certificates. For his achievements in his work, Astakhov A.Ya. was awarded the jubilee medal "For Valiant labor. In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of V.I. Lenin", the medal "Veteran of Labor", the departmental badge of distinction in the work "Veteran of nuclear energy and Industry" and the bronze medal of the Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy (VDNH) of the USSR. In 2016, he was awarded a Letter of Thanks from JINR, and in 2021, a Certificate of Honor from JINR. Anatoly Yakovlevich was repeatedly nominated to the Honor Board of the laboratory, was awarded with commendations from the directorate of the Institute and prizes for inventions and assistance to invention. Tactful and friendly attitude to people, responsiveness and modesty earned Anatoly Yakovlevich the respect of his colleagues at work.
