The youth of the Meshcheryakov Laboratory of Information Technologies reported on their work for the year On December 11, a three-day reporting seminar of young scientists and specialists completed its work at the Meshcheryakov Laboratory of Information Technologies. At the seminar, the MLIT Directorate got acquainted with the results of the work of young staff members within AYSS grants, as well as M.G. Mescheryakov and N.N. Govorun prizes, for 2024. The MLIT youth presented their plans for the coming year. A wide range of researchers and specialists from MLIT departments took part in the event as listeners. Following the results of the seminar, the Laboratory’s jury will decide on awarding M.G. Meshcheryakov and N.N. Govorun prizes for 2025 and will submit recommendations to the Central Expert Commission on the competition held by the JINR Association of Young Scientists and Specialists for AYSS grants for 2025. The winners will be announced at the end of December. “MLIT young staff members actively participated in the seminar, they became familiar with the whole variety of investigations conducted in our Laboratory, which provides good opportunities to participate in joint projects and implement new ideas”, MLIT Scientific Leader Vladimir Korenkov, underlined at the end of the event.. “It is pleasant to note that many of the works of MLIT young scientists and specialists are associated with the application of advanced machine learning methods for a wide range of tasks, the solution of which they are aimed at”, MLIT Deputy Scientific Leader Tatyana Strizh remarked. “We spent three highly productive days and were able not only to get acquainted with the results of a wide range of works and studies in which our youth participate, but also to discuss topical issues of these works, to outline prospects for development. Such seminars provide an opportunity for our Laboratory’s staff members to learn more about the areas of research being conducted in various MLIT departments”, MLIT Scientific Secretary Olga Derenovskaya commented on the results of the seminar. Meshcheryakov Scholarship is awarded to MLIT staff working in the field of mathematical support for experimental and theoretical physics in order to stimulate the scientific work of young scientists. The N.N. Govorun Scholarship is awarded to M LIT employees working in the field of information, computer and network support for JINR activities in order to stimulate scientific and methodological work. The competition for JINR youth grants is held among young JINR scientists and specialists, research interns and qualified workers of JINR budget departments aged no older than 35 years.
