At the 32nd conference “Mathematics. Computer. Education”

MLIT Scientific Leader Vladimir Korenkov delivered a speech at the opening of the XXXII International Conference “Mathematics. Computer. Education” (MCE-2025). The conference is being held in a hybrid format on 27-31 January at the Pushchino Scientific Center for Biological Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS). The Joint Institute for Nuclear Research is one of the organizers of the event.

The key feature of the conference “Mathematics. Computer. Education” is its interdisciplinary nature. This event, which has already become traditional, focuses on consolidating the efforts of scientists and higher education workers, preserving the traditions of Russian science and education, enhancing the qualifications of the scientific and teaching staff in mathematical modeling and information technology, and attracting young people to the field of science and education.

Speaking at the MCE-2025 opening, Vladimir Korenkov, a representative of the conference organizing committee, who once stood at the origins of the conference, congratulated the audience on the 270th anniversary of Lomonosov Moscow State University. He pointed out that MSU was not only the main organizer of the MCE conferences, but also its largest participant.

“Due to external reasons, Russian scientific institutes are currently not participating in the processing of experimental data from the Large Hadron Collider, and this work is becoming the responsibility of Dubna alone. However, at the same time, a multitude of highly interesting large-scale and research projects are currently being carried out in Russia, which serves as one of the important scientific guidelines for the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research,” he noted.

Vladimir Korenkov informed the MCE-2025 participants that the enrolment for the master’s program of the MSU branch in Dubna in the new direction “Data Processing Methods and Technologies in Heterogeneous Computing Environments” was recently announced. This direction is aimed at training specialists in the field of megascience project computing, and its scientific disciplines largely overlap with the major topics of the conference “Mathematics. Computer. Education”. In conclusion of his speech, Vladimir Korenkov invited the participants to Dubna, where the next MCE conference will be held in 2026.

Welcome speeches were also given by Vladislav Komarov, a leading researcher at the Institute of Cell Biophysics of the RAS and the co-chair of the organizing committee, by Galina Riznichenko, Professor at the MSU Faculty of Biology and the chairman of the organizing committee, by Andrey Grinevich, Deputy Director of the Institute of Cell Biophysics of the RAS and the co-chair of the organizing committee, by Pavel Grabarnik, Director of the Federal Research Center “Pushchino Scientific Center for Biological Research of the RAS”. On behalf of Head of Serpukhov Sergey Nikitenko, his Deputy Alexey Vorobyov welcomed the participants.

The MCE-2025 program embraces thematic meetings in the following areas:

  • Data analysis, machine learning and artificial intelligence,
  • Computational methods and mathematical modeling,
  • Analysis of complex biological systems. Experiment and models,
  • Analysis and modeling of socio-economic processes,
  • Natural science, humanitarian and IT education,
  • Museum in the modern world,
  • Russian scientific language.

The Symposium with international participation “Biophysics of Complex Systems. Computational and Systems Biology. Molecular Modeling” and the round table “Cultural Space of Russia” will take place within the conference.

The reports selected by session chairs will be published in the conference proceedings and in the Computer Research and Modeling journal.
