Successful defenses of bachelor’s theses became one of results of cooperation between MLIT and FEFU

On 24 and 27 June 2025, 4th year students of the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Technologies (IMCT) of Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) Danil Dereza, Gennady Karpov, Maxim Lebedev, and Maxim Skazkin defended their bachelor’s theses with flying colors. Acting Director of the Mathematical and Computer Modeling Department, IMCT Senior Teacher Andrey Sushchenko on behalf of FEFU and Lead Programmer Dmitry Belyakov and Researcher Maxim Zuev on behalf of MLIT were their supervisors.

In 2023, several FEFU students participated in the JINR Autumn IT School 2023, two of them, Gennady Karpov and Maxim Skazkin, applied for participation in the JINR international competitive internship program for students and postgraduates, START (STudent Advanced Research Training), organized by the JINR University Center. In 2024, during a one-and-a-half-month internship at MLIT, the students worked on a task within the scientific direction “Support and development of the JINR Multifunctional Information and Computing Complex (MICC)” on the topic “Development and implementation of new systems for collecting and analyzing statistics on the use of computing resources and application software of the HybriLIT heterogeneous platform”. The students presented the results of their work in the form of online reports at the JINR Spring IT School 2024. Gennady Karpov’s work was awarded a diploma for the best report.

In 2024, during the summer internship at MLIT. Gennady Karpov and Maxim Skazkin continued their joint work on the development of the computing resource monitoring system, and Danil Dereza and Maxim Lebedev started solving the task of analyzing and visualizing the resource usage statistics of the HybriLIT heterogeneous platform. The results of the FEFU students’ work were presented at JINR’s 28th International Scientific Conference of Young Scientists and Specialists (AYSS-2024) and the JINR Spring IT School 2025 in Dubna, as well as at the XV All-Russian Conference “Information and Telecommunication Technologies and Mathematical Modeling of High-Tech Systems” (ITTMM-2025) at RUDN University in Moscow..

Currently, the adaptation and test operation of new systems for monitoring, visualizing and analyzing statistics, created with the participation of the FEFU students, are underway. The further implementation of the systems will enhance the efficiency of system administrators and ensure the reliability of the HybriLIT heterogeneous platform. The work is being conducted at the MLIT Heterogeneous Computing and Quantum Informatics Sector under the supervision of Sector Head Oksana Streltsova.
