Sad Information about V. Shkundenkov On September 26, 2020, Vladimir Nikolaevich Shkundenkov, doctor of technical Sciences, Director of the scientific center for research and development of information systems at the JINR Laboratory of Information Technologies (LIT), died suddenly. V.N. Shkundenkov was born on March 27, 1938 in Krasnoyarsk. In 1961, he graduated from the Moscow Power Engineering Institute (MPEI) of the order of Lenin, and in 1962, V.N. Shkundenkov started working at JINR. Under his leadership, the AELT-1 scanning system was created in 1973, which is used for mass processing of images from a spark camera. In 1980, the creation of the AELT-2/160 scanning system was completed in cooperation with CERN, which was characterized by high measurement characteristics and was equipped with a High-speed light pencil and a multifunctional keyboard developed by V.N. Shkundenkov. A similar system was developed together with Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute (TsAGI) for the problems of aviation. These results V.N. Shkundenkov were awarded a gold medal and Diploma of Honor of the USSR. Since 1994, V.N. Shkundenkov has organized cooperation with CERN on the development of administrative information systems within the framework of the signed JINR-CERN agreement.
