Reconstruction of strange particles by the missing mass method in the experiments CBM (Germany) and STAR (USA)

A missing mass method developed for the reconstruction of strange and other short-lived particles with neutral particles in their decay products is presented. The missing mass method is realized as a complex of fast algorithms with use of vector instructions SIMD (Single Instruction, Multiple Data) and directives and procedures OpenMP (Open Multi Processing) for effective parallel work on many-core computer architectures, which can include both processors and coprocessors. This allows to apply it in heavy-ion physics experiments for real-time data processing under conditions of high multiplicity of events with up to 107 collisions per second and dominated background. Mathematical procedures implementing the method were initially developed and implemented within FLES (First Level Event Selection) software package for the future experiment CBM (FAIR/ GSI, Germany) and later adapted and applied for processing and analysis of real data in the STAR experiment (BNL, USA). The results of application of the missing mass method to simulated data of the CBM experiment and to real data in the STAR experiment collected within the BES-II program in 2019-2021 will be presented and discussed.
