Development of specialized databases and information systems for experimental high energy physics

(based on the PhD thesis)
Abstract:
The PhD thesis presents algorithms and methods for creating specialized databases and corresponding information systems (IS) for automating the processes of collecting, processing and analyzing data in high energy physics experiments (HEP). The types of databases and IS used in the HEP experiments, such as geometric, configuration, states, time series, search and collection of events by metadata, were considered. Methods for constructing geometric ISs based on the FAIRRoot package have been developed. Based on them, a geometric IS was implemented for the BM@N experiment. The issues of creating flexible services for automated search for events in HEP experiments have been worked out and EventPickingService for the ATLAS experiment has been created on their basis. As part of the work for the BM@N experiment, methods for constructing configuration ISs have been developed. For the ATLAS experiment, a method was developed for integrating a dynamic tree into the Grafana platform and an algorithm for transferring data from the COOL DB to a new format for the ATLAS experiment, developed within the framework of the CREST project.
All presented software packages, algorithms and methods have been successfully implemented in the experimental software environments and are currently being used.
