Congratulations to Victor Vladimirovich Ivanov! On 19 May 2023 Viktor Vladimirovich Ivanov, Chief Researcher of the Scientific Department of Computational Physics of the Meshcheryakov Laboratory of Information Technologies of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, celebrates his 75th birthday. Viktor Vladimirovich began his scientific activity in 1971 at the Serpukhov Scientific and Experimental Department of JINR after graduating from the Faculty of Physics of Tbilisi State University. Since 1973, he has been working at MLIT (LCTA) JINR, where he went from an engineer to the director of the Laboratory. Viktor Vladimirovich Ivanov is a well-known scientist in the field of experimental nuclear physics, the automation of a physics experiment, experimental data processing and analysis. Qualitatively new results on the interaction of light nuclei with nuclei were obtained with his direct participation. The next scientific stage was research in applied mathematical statistics, he was one of the first at JINR who began to use artificial neural networks and cellular automata for data analysis in physics research, without which not a single major experiment can be carried out today. A doctoral thesis based on the results of these studies was successfully defended in 1994. A significant stage in his professional biography was long-term cooperation with the Solvay Institute of Physics and Chemistry, headed, at that time, by the Nobel laureate I.R. Prigogine. Viktor Vladimirovich is the author of more than 555 scientific papers. His works have been repeatedly awarded JINR prizes. In January 2003, V.V. Ivanov was elected to the position of MLIT Director. A huge amount of work on the modernization of the JINR computer and network infrastructure, as a result of which the Central Information and Computing Complex of the Institute became one of the world's data processing centers, was carried out with his direct participation. Since 2013, he has been MLIT Chief Researcher. For many years, Viktor Vladimirovich has been heading at JINR the work on the creation of software for the CBM experiment at GSI. This work is performed at the highest level using the latest achievements in computing and information technologies. V.V. Ivanov makes a great contribution to the training of scientific personnel, under his supervision 1 doctoral and 6 Ph.D. theses were defended. Since 2017, he has been a professor at the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI. He is a member of the MLIT Dissertation Council and a member of the editorial board of the journal Physics of Elementary Particles and Atomic Nuclei, Letters. V.V. Ivanov was awarded the Medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" II degree, the medal "50 years of Poland's Participation in JINR", the honorary badge of the Government of Mongolia "Forefront Researcher", the departmental badge of distinction in labor "Veteran of Nuclear Energy and Industry", JINR’s Honorary Diploma, the Certificate of Honor of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. He has the title of "Honorary Fellow of JINR", received the Silver Commemorative Medal of the Technical University of Košice, Slovakia. Viktor Vladimirovich, together with his wife Valentina Vasilievna, raised two sons (who also work at JINR) and now enjoy their granddaughter and grandson. Dear Viktor Vladimirovich! We sincerely congratulate you on your anniversary and wish you good health, energy and success in your work, well-being, mutual understanding and happiness in family life. All the very best to you!
