MLIT General Laboratory seminar

Program of the seminar:

  1. Z.A. Sharipov
Molecular dynamics method in radiation physics tasks. Geometric alignment of the STS and GEM detectors of the BM@N experiment

The talk provides an overview of scientific investigations performed over the past five years: 1) Irradiation of materials with ions of various energies; 2) Irradiation of targets of complex structure with nanoclusters. Formation of shock waves and their influence on structural changes; 3) Geometric alignment of detector systems; 4) Plan for future research, collaboration, participation in grants and supervision of Ph.D. candidates.
  2. I. Sarhadov
Numerical simulation of thermal processes that arise in materials under the action of laser pulses

The talk gives an overview of the conducted scientific research of thermal processes that arise in materials under the action of laser pulses using the thermal conductivity equation and the hyperbolic thermal spike model over the past five years, including a plan for future scientific studies.
  3. A. Rahmonova
Development of Python-based tools for simulating the dynamics of a Josephson junction under the influence of external radiation

The talk considers developed algorithms to calculate the current-voltage characteristic of a Josephson junction under the influence of external radiation and compute the dependence of the Shapiro step width on the amplitude of external radiation, as well as implemented approaches to speed up computing circuits that are integrated in the ecosystem being developed within the joint project of MLIT and BLTP on the development of a toolkit on top of the Jupyter environment using Python libraries for the mathematical simulation of systems based on Josephson junctions.
  4. O.I. Streltsova
HybriLIT platform as an ecosystem for performing computations and elaborating new IT solutions

The talk presents the report of the HybriLIT Heterogeneous Computing Group for 2023 on the modernization of the “Govorun” supercomputer, the development of the platform’s software and information environment, user support. The results of the Group’s research aimed at elaborating IT solutions to process and store data, as well as to carry out resource-intensive computations within JINR projects, will also be considered.
