Students and teachers of MSU at MLIT On 28 February 2024, the Meshcheryakov Laboratory of Information Technologies hosted 3-5-year students and teachers of the Department of Automated Systems for Computing Complexes of the Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics of Lomonosov Moscow State University, who were accompanied by Senior Researcher of the Laboratory of Computing Complexes V.V. Balashov and Head of the Department R.L. Smelyansky. MLIT Scientific Leader V.V. Korenkov told the guests about the major directions of the Laboratory’s activities and modern IT technologies for solving scientific and applied tasks, introduced them to ongoing events (conferences, student schools) and expressed hope for closer cooperation and interaction with MSU in the future. M.I. Zuev (researcher, MLIT) described in detail one of the components of the JINR MLIT Multifunctional Information and Computing Complex (MICC), namely, the “Govorun” supercomputer, spoke about its architecture and the tasks solved on it. After the lectures, the students went on excursions. I.S. Pelevanyuk (researcher, MLIT) talked about interesting facts from MLIT’s history and presented the JINR MICC. Then the delegation visited the interactive exhibition “JINR Basic Facilities”, where they got acquainted with all areas of JINR’s activities. Thanks to the interactive models of the exposition, the students were able to look into all the Laboratories of the Institute and immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the experiments being conducted. The students gained new knowledge that would be useful in further education and broadened their horizons.
