KRUGLOVA Lyudmila Yurievna 30.08.1957 – 16.02.2024

In February 2024, Lyudmila Kruglova, a software engineer of the 1st category of the Division of Software and Information Support at the Meshcheryakov Laboratory of Information Technologies, died.
Kruglova L.Yu. was born on August 30, 1957 in the city of Alma-Ata (Kazakhstan).

Lyudmila Yurievna's 43 years of life were inextricably linked with JINR, where she began working in August 1980 after graduating from the Physics Department of Lomonosov Moscow State University. From the first days of her work at NIOREMO LCTA, she studied the operating system of the EU-1040 computer installed in the Laboratory of Nuclear Problems, thereby preparing for the use in LCTA since 1981 of computers of the unified series EU – EU-1060, EU-1061 to solve problems of automation of physical experiment.

Since 1994, Kruglova L.Yu. has been a member of the collaboration of the DIRAC experiment at the PS accelerator at CERN. She made a great contribution to the development of methods for determining the parameters of the drift camera system of the DIRAC installation, she developed and implemented tracking software in the micro-drift camera system. With her active participation, a multiple scattering study was performed for the DIRAC installation. She was engaged in processing experimental data, regularly took part in accelerator sessions.

During her time at the Institute, Lyudmila Yurievna has established herself as a highly qualified specialist. She is the author of a large number of publications in international journals, conference proceedings, and CERN publications. The series of works "The study of hadron hydrogen-like atoms in the DIRAC experiment", performed with the participation of Kruglova L.Yu., was awarded the JINR Prize for 2016 in the field of experimental physics.

Lyudmila Yurievna was a conscientious and qualified employee, able to achieve high results in solving complex research tasks in the field of automation of physical experiments and analysis of experimental data. She was always open to discussions and friendly in her relationships with her work colleagues.
For her achievements in her work, she was nominated to the LCTA Board of Honor, awarded the departmental distinction in the work "Veteran of Nuclear Energy and Industry".

Professional qualities and friendly attitude to people earned Kruglova L.Yu. the respect of colleagues at work. The bright memory about her will remain in the hearts of those who knew her, worked and communicated with her.
