Tuesday, October 8, 2024 14:00 MLIT Room 310, Online seminar via Webinar General Laboratory seminar Seminar of candidates of the JINR Specialized International Competition for JINR Fellowship Program Fellows Dr. Yauheni Talochka (Vilnius University) A Graph Neural Network model for the reconstruction of particle tracks detected at the MPD experiment of the NICA project Abstract: The capabilities of GNN models for the reconstruction of particle tracks detected at the MPD experiment of the NICA project were studied. The efficiency of the GNN model presented by the HEPTrkX project and trained on the dataset provided by the TrackML Particle Tracking Challenge was studied at the noise levels of both 0% and 19.5%. An optimization of the current model was carried out by implementing methods of the PyTorch Geometric library. That allowed accelerating the training process and reducing the CPU-RAM/GPU-RAM memory usage. Dr. Mahebdra Goray (Central University of Odisha) A new physics beyond the velocity of light and numerical study on cosmology Abstract: Our universe is so mysterious that still many fundamental questions are unsolved like the mystery of dark energy, accelerating universe, dark matter and the strange nature of the photon etc. Also there is a limiting barrier of light’s velocity, which is prohibiting to access the realm of physical universe. Although, several theoretical and experimental study allow us to go beyond the velocity of light. Here, in this presentation, we will discuss the physical reality of nature beyond the velocity of light. Especially, the mass, momentum and energy of photons and we will try to unlock the mystery of dark matter and dark energy. For realizing this abstract idea we need to do some numerical study with cosmological phenomena. Regarding this purpose we will discuss how a few basic programing languages and special software packages are useful to attain the goals. The study has been carried out by using the concepts of matter-wave, relativity, tensor analysis, gravity, quantum mechanical approach, QFT, SM, and cosmology. Information on the seminar at Indico.
