MMCP–2024 Conference Starts in Yerevan city

Monday, October 21, 2024 - Friday, October 25, 2024      Yerevan State University     Yerevan, Armenia

The International Conference "Mathematical Modeling and Computational Physics, 2024" (MMCP-2024), started its work in Yerevan State University. The conference is jointly organized by the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, the A.I. Alikhanian National Science Laboratory, the Yerevan State University, and the Institute for Informatics and Automation Problems (IIAP) of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia.

The conference was attended by over 150 scientists and specialists from 18 countries and a large number of Russian research centers and universities. JINR was represented by the laboratories of MLIT, BLTP, VBLHEP and LRB.

At the opening of the event, welcoming speeches were made by representatives of the conference co-organizers, including the director of the M. G. Meshcheryakov Laboratory of Information Technologies of JINR Sergey Vladimirovich Shmatov. The speakers emphasized the importance of international cooperation for advancing research in the field of mathematical modeling and computational physics, and also noted that the conference is especially significant because it is dedicated to the memory of Academician Alexey Norairovich Sisakyan (14.10.1944 - 01.05.2010), whose scientific ideas and activities as director of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research from 2006 to 2010 were highly productive and whose legacy continues to inspire the scientific community.

The plenary report was given by Vladimir Vasilyevich Korenkov, Scientific Director of LIT JINR, who spoke about methods and technologies for data processing in heterogeneous computing environments.

The scientific topics of the event cover a wide range of issues. Individual sessions of the conference are devoted to machine learning and big data analytics, mathematical methods and tools for modeling complex physical systems, methods and numerical algorithms in high-energy physics, numerical and analytical calculations in modern mathematical physics, methods of quantum computing and quantum information processing, modern methods of data processing and analysis in mega-science projects, high-performance computing and computer science, as well as mathematical methods in life sciences.

The conference will last from October 21 to 25, 2024.
