Scientific community of Cuba got acquainted with MLIT research areas

On 26 February, Alexander Uzhinskiy, Senior Researcher of the Distributed Systems Sector of the Meshcheryakov Laboratory of Information Technologies, delivered a talk at the University of Havana (Republic of Cuba) within a scientific seminar on the key research areas of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research. Alexander Uzhinskiy’s report covered the current status and prospects of the MLIT scientific program.

The seminar was one of the main parts of the official visit of JINR representatives to the University of Havana, organized on the penultimate day of the second NUMAR-2025 International School on the application of nuclear methods and applied research in the field of ecology, materials science and life sciences. During the meeting with the management and research staff of the university, the prospects for developing joint research projects, as well as issues of training young specialists, were discussed. The result of the visit was the renewal of the General Cooperation Agreement with the university, which is aimed at expanding Cuba’s participation in JINR projects. More details on the JINR website.

The school took place on 24-27 February in Havana and was organized jointly by the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research and the Cuban National Agency for Nuclear Energy and Advanced Technologies (AENTA). Within the school, Alexander Uzhinskiy told young scientists from Latin America about modern technologies and methods of artificial intelligence in environmental monitoring, agriculture and biomedical research.
