Bulgarian Parliament representatives visited MLIT On 8 April, representatives of the Revival party of the National Assembly (Parliament) of the Republic of Bulgaria, Yordan Hristov Todorov and Angel Vasilev Yanchev, visited the Meshcheryakov Laboratory of Information Technologies. The two-day visit to the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research was organized with the aim of getting acquainted with the JINR scientific infrastructure, as well as discussing the status and prospects for the development of cooperation between Bulgaria and JINR. MLIT Director Sergei Shmatov and MLIT Scientific Leader Vladimir Korenkov welcomed the guests at MLIT. Accompanied by the Laboratory’s Directorate, the guests visited the JINR Multifunctional Information and Computing Complex and the “Govorun” supercomputer. The members of the Bulgarian Parliament were presented with MLIT’s experience in organizing data centers of various levels, as well as in building a large heterogeneous computing architecture that utilizes resources of different types. Yordan Hristov Todorov and Angel Vasilev Yanchev got acquainted with the directions of MLIT’s scientific activity and the Laboratory’s plans for the large-scale development of the MICC and the opening of a second machine hall. During the meeting, long-standing and fruitful cooperation with the Republic of Bulgaria of both MLIT and JINR as a whole was highlighted. The guests were provided with information about major upcoming scientific events organized by MLIT, in which Bulgarian scientists plan to participate.
