Meeting of MLIT youth with Laboratory’s Directorate On 6 November 2025, a meeting of young scientists and specialists from the Meshcheryakov Laboratory of Information Technologies was held. The activities of the Association of Young Scientists and Specialists (AYSS) of JINR were discussed, and a conversation between MLIT’s youth and Directorate took place. Ivan Sokolov, a MLIT representative at the AYSS Council, delivered a talk. He provided a detailed overview of AYSS activities, its goals, and objectives within the Institute. Ivan Sokolov described the organization of the Association’s major international conferences, including AYSS, Alushta, the Lipnya Scientific School, and the School of Accelerator Physics. AYSS also regularly organizes seminars and master classes for professional development. In addition, Ivan Sokolov spoke about the participation of young JINR scientists in events aimed at popularizing science, namely, the Summer School (JINR Workshop “Element 105”), NAUKA 0+ science festivals, and Physics Days in Dubna. The report covered information on grants and scholarships for young JINR scientists and social support programs such as Social Mortgage. This topic generated a lively discussion among the audience. The significance of this support measure in terms of finances and scientific prestige was discussed. Igor Pelevanyuk took the floor: “Besides everything else, grants have a substantial benefit. When we write grant applications or report on them, we force ourselves to stop and look at our work over a certain period from a distance. It gives a comprehensive view of what has been achieved and, at the same time, the opportunity to reflect on our future goals. And I believe that, taken as a whole, grants for young scientists have not lost their relevance at JINR,” he pointed out. Representatives of the MLIT Directorate were also present at the meeting, allowing the participants to ask questions and discuss the initiatives in an informal setting. In addition to grants and scholarships, the discussion focused on the Laboratory’s scientific development prospects and priority research areas at both MLIT and JINR as a whole. Advice and recommendations on effective approaches to young employees’ own conference activities and work processes were given. Proposals for the Laboratory’s infrastructure development were considered. The event became an effective platform for dialogue between MLIT’s young specialists and Directorate.
