At meeting at State Committee on Science and Technology of Belarus On 27 April 2026, within a JINR delegation, MLIT Deputy Director Nikolay Voytishin participated in a meeting with the management of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus (SCST). Fostering cooperation on MLIT’s activities was considered by Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Belarus at JINR, SCST Chairman Denis Korzhitskiy and representatives of the Institute for Nuclear Problems of the Belarusian State University (INP BSU) and the United Institute of Informatics Problems (UIIP) of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NAS of Belarus). ). Expanding the number of data centers for processing data from the NICA megascience project, thanks to the participation of new Belarusian scientific organizations, was discussed. At present, data centers for processing data from the MPD and SPD experiments at NICA are being set up at the Joint Institute for Power and Nuclear Research – Sosny of the NAS of Belarus and INP BSU, respectively. The parties underlined that for the effective operation of these data centers and the integration of new Belarusian institutes, it was required to increase the bandwidth of internal network telecommunications channels in Belarus up to 10 Gbps. The possibilities of implementing this task with the participation of UIIP, as well as the application of MLIT’s expertise, including in the area of user program organization, were talked over given the enlargement of the computing power of the UIIP supercomputer center. The parties agreed to elaborate further practical steps at a meeting in Dubna, which will be organized in the near future. In general, at the meeting with the JINR representatives, the further enhancement of cooperation in such areas as the radiation modification of materials, supercomputer technologies, microwave generators, proton therapy and plasmapheresis using track membranes, the testing of the radiation resistance of microcircuits, and quantum physics was discussed. Along with MLIT, the heads of the Veksler and Baldin Laboratory of High Energy Physics, the Laboratory of Radiation Biology, the Innovations and Intellectual Property Department, and the Budget and Economic Policy Department took part in the meeting on behalf of JINR. Among participants from Belarus there were the management and representatives of SCST, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, BSU, BSUIR, Integral JSC, the Republican Scientific and Practical Center of Transfusiology and Medical Biotechnologies, and organizations of the NAS. In addition, during the visit to the Republic of Belarus, the JINR delegation visited the National Center of Intellectual Property, where a meeting on the establishment of cooperation took place.
