MLIT Joint Laboratory Seminar

Seminar program:

  1. Dmitry Baranov
Simulation and coordinate reconstruction in microstrip tracking detectors of the BM@N experiment
    Abstract:

The report focuses on the development of software for coordinate detectors of the tracking system in the BM@N experiment. Algorithms for simulating signal responses in silicon and gas detectors are considered, as well as methods for local coordinate reconstruction of charged particle hits from microstrip planes. The developed software enables easy adaptation of the algorithms to new detector geometries, ensuring high flexibility in changing the configuration of the detector setup. The presented methods and algorithms are integrated into the BMNROOT software and are actively used for simulation, reconstruction, and analysis of experimental data in the BM@N experiment.

  2. Mikhail Mineev
Development of the CREST Conditions DB for the ATLAS Experiment
    Abstract:

For the correct physical data processing it is also necessary to use the conditions data. The CREST project is a new realization of the Conditions DB with the Rest API and JSON support for the ATLAS experiment. This project allows to simplify the conditions data structure and to optimize the data access. This talk focused on the CREST architecture, its main components, on the CREST data usage in Athena. In the future CREST will use a new high-level interface for the database access realized in the Conditions High-level Application Interface (chai) package. The packages written by the author of the report (CrestApi, crest_cmd, etc.) are considered in detail.
