Online via MTS Link Bulkhak A.N.(NRU MPEI) Presentation topic: Development of methods and technologies of cloud resources provisioning for composite applications in the “workflow-as-a-service” paradigm (based on the PhD thesis) Abstract: This work addresses the problem of joint dynamic scheduling of independent, heterogeneous workflows and cloud resource management, aiming to minimize usage costs while meeting the deadlines of users of a “Workflow-as-a-Service” platform. A heuristic method is proposed for decomposing the initial optimization problem; it involves the preliminary construction of task execution time intervals, the dynamic batching of ready tasks, and their real-time assignment to virtual machines. Simulation results for the proposed solution demonstrate a reduction in cloud infrastructure usage costs compared to similar algorithms and confirm the applicability of the proposed approach to online scheduling.
