Congratulating colleagues from Belarus: BSU Institute for Nuclear Problems celebrated its 40th anniversary On 16 September, MLIT Deputy Director Nikolay Voytishin congratulated the Institute for Nuclear Problems of the Belarusian State University (INP BSU) on the 40th anniversary of its establishment on behalf of the Meshcheryakov Laboratory of Information Technologies. The event took place within the special meeting of the Institute’s Academic Council. The JINR delegation also included VBLHEP Acting Deputy Director Dmitry Peshekhonov, Head of the VBLHEP LU-20 Injection Sector Yegor Tamashevich, and Head of the LRB Radiation Biology and Physiology Department Pavel Lobachevsky. Nikolay Voytishin highlighted long-standing and fruitful cooperation between INP BSU and MLIT JINR. “Our colleagues from INP BSU are actively involved in the NICA megascience project, participating in the collaborations of the MPD and SPD experiments. The joint work embraces detector development and the physics analysis of experimental data, not only for NICA but also for the CMS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider,” Nikolay Voytishin commented. Denis Korzhitsky, Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus and Plenipotentiary Representative of the Government of Belarus at JINR, addressed the Institute’s staff members with congratulations. “You are active participants in all programs, events, and objectives that the government of our country sets for the development of science. I would especially like to point out the role of your organization in enhancing cooperation with the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, which today is a center of world science. With its assistance, INP BSU develops nuclear technology in our country and performs a coordinating function,” he underlined On the anniversary day, BSU Rector Andrei Karol congratulated the BSU INP staff, emphasizing that INP BSU makes a significant contribution to strengthening the nuclear and radiation safety of Belarus. BSU INP Director Yulia Fedotova responded to the congratulations: “Our Institute is one of the youngest scientific organizations in Belarus, however, we have a tremendous and inspiring journey behind us. Today, INP BSU is a brand recognized in the global scientific community.”
