The twelfth All-Russian Scientific and practical Conference on simulation modeling and its application in science and industry "Simulation modeling. Theory and practice" (IMMOD-2025) will take place in St. Petersburg, (Gorky House of Scientists of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 26 Dvortsovaya Embankment), October 15-17, 2025
The purpose of the conference: dissemination of simulation methods and tools for solving scientific and practical problems, activation of creative activity and strengthening of scientific and industrial potential of the Russian Federation.
The main thematic areas of the conference: - theoretical foundations and methodology of simulation and complex modeling; - methods of research and evaluation of model quality, validation and verification of models; - distributed modeling methods and systems; - modeling global processes; - simulation and artificial intelligence; - automation and visualization tools for simulation and complex modeling; - system dynamics (with the obligatory presence of a simulation component in the used model-algorithmic development); - optimization methods in simulation modeling; - virtual modeling and simulation systems (simulators); - practical application of modeling and simulation automation tools, decision-making based on simulation results; - simulation and integrated modeling in teaching and education; - the normative and methodological base of simulation and complex modeling.
The 28th International Conference on "Distributed Computer and Communication Networks: Control, Computation, Communications (DCCN - 2025)"
The DCCN-2025 conference will be held under the support of the IEEE (Russia Section Chapter, COM19) and will take place in Moscow, Russia, on 22 - 26 September, 2025 in a hybrid mode (with physical and/or virtual participation).
The main idea of the conference is to provide a platform and forum for researchers and developers from academia and industry from various countries working in the area of theory and applications of distributed computer and communication networks, mathematical modeling, methods of control and optimization of distributed systems, by offering them a unique opportunity to share their views as well as discuss the prospective developments and pursue collaboration in this area.
The working languages of the Conference are Russian and English.
Proceedings Traditionally, the accepted and presented DCCN papers are published in the Conference Proceedings volume (included into the Russian Science Citation Index). The revised selected submissions in English, recommended by the Program Committee, also appear as a stand-alone volume of selected extended papers published by Springer (indexed in Scopus and Web of Science).

Nucleus-2025. Nuclear physics, elementary particle physics, and nuclear technologies
The jubilee 75th International Conference “Nucleus-2025. Nuclear physics, elementary particle physics, and nuclear technologies” will take place at the Saint Petersburg State University from 1 to 6 July 2025. The event dates back to 1950 and is the oldest international nuclear conference in Russia and is among the oldest ones worldwide. Only in-person participation is available.
The conference is devoted to the relevant issues of nuclear and high energy physics, nuclear medicine, neutron and synchrotron research, and their applications. In addition, research using synchrotron radiation and neutrons will be discussed. The main programme of the conference covers a wide range of scientific areas.

CALL FOR PAPERS Advancements in computing platforms research allow building complex distributed systems which help conduct virtual experiments. Online-seminar "Crafting Principled Machine Learning Architectures for Networked Systems"
Modern networking environments’ dynamic and unpredictable nature poses significant challenges for traditional design approaches and off-the-shelf machine learning methods. As networked systems adapt to changing conditions, such as topology shifts, complex constraints, and unforeseen scenarios, they often outpace the capabilities of conventional solutions. In this panel, we will advocate for a cross-disciplinary approach that integrates insights and techniques from both networking and machine learning and will showcase two recent approaches that exemplify this ethos.

Seminar Topic: Discrete optimization in queueing systems by reinforcement learning vs random search method.
Speaker: Dmitry Efrosinin, Doctor of Sci. Math., Professor, Acting Head of the Institute for Stochastics of the Johannes Kepler University Linz, Austria.
Abstract:
The topic of the paper is to discuss the application of reinforcement learning algorithms to discrete optimization problems in queueing theory. As a concrete example, we consider the problem of optimal allocation of customers between servers in a multichannel queueing system with a finite population, a common queue, and heterogeneous servers with the aim of minimizing the average cost per unit of time. To verify the experimental results of optimal control obtained, a dynamic programming algorithm is used. Moreover, we have additionally applied an alternative numerical random search method based on the simulated annealing algorithm. A discussion of the advantages and disadvantages of the methods used as well as the peculiarities of their use for controlled queueing systems is carried out.
Moreover, the following problems are discussed in brief:
1. Formulation of the optimization problem as a Markov or semi-Markovian controlled process 2. Reinforcement learning algorithms based on state action value function Q 3. Reinforcement learning algorithms based on the policy gradient. 4. Principles of the simulated annealing.

Тема: "Приближённый метод оценки эффективной ёмкости многосерверной системы массового обслуживания в сценариях сверхнадежной связи с малыми задержками"
Аннотация: В последние годы активно развиваются приложения, требующие гарантированно низких задержек и высокой надежности при доставке данных. Многие современные технологии связи предлагают специализированные механизмы для обслуживания трафика таких приложений. Для настройки этих механизмов и работы алгоритмов управления ресурсами необходимо быстро и точно оценивать эффективную емкость системы -- максимальный объем трафика, обслуживаемого при условии удовлетворения строгим требованиям к качеству обслуживания. Доклад будет посвящен разработке искомой приближенной формулы для оценки эффективной ёмкости системы многосерверной системы массового обслуживания в условиях, характерных для сценариев сверхнадежной связи с малыми задержками. Будут обсуждаться точность, асимптотическое поведение и применимость полученных соотношений.

Title:System programming and technologies for creating trusted systems (including artificial intelligence)
The widespread adoption of information technologies (including artificial intelligence) is accompanied by a growing number of challenges in the field of cybersecurity. To respond to them, it is necessary to develop appropriate methods and technologies of system programming. The report examines emerging threats and emphasizes the need to create end-to-end technologies that ensure the entire life cycle of development and operation of systems with a given level of trust. Attention is also paid to organizational models for the development of relevant technologies ‒ using the examples of the Center for System Software Security Research and the Research Center for Trusted Artificial Intelligence, created at the ISP RAS. The results of the work of these centers and proposals for the further development of the scientific and technological basis of the IT industry are also presented.

This wave of connectivity has had its pathologies, but it has also reversed the growth of extreme poverty. And now the megabit Internet is being upgraded to offer gigabit connectivity. All this happened in just 50 years. Buckle up!
Vint Cerf (Internet evangelist at Google and co-inventor of the Internet, Turing award laureate) and Bob Metcalfe (Internet pioneer, Ethernet inventor, 3Com founder, Turing award laureate) will discuss their vision about Internet architecture and services evolutions, such as (but not limited to) the Digital Object Architecture, Knowledge Robots (in the context of current AI Agents), the Interplanetary Internet, and the general concept of National and International Information Infrastructure. This discussion will conclude with a Q&A session with Bob and Vint.
Cryptography is the science of secret writing
The report is based on a recently published brochure with the same title (V.M. Fomichev, M.: Prometheus, 2020, 66 p.). Historical material on cryptography is presented, summarizing the dynamics of cryptography development from ancient times to the present day. The tasks of information protection, solved with the help of cryptography, including in the financial and banking sphere, are indicated. The connection of cryptography with other sciences: mathematics, physics, linguistics is shown. In addition, some urgent tasks of modern cryptography are outlined 1. Multiplication of key material. 2. Standardization of cryptographic protocols in the Russian Federation.
The main goal of the author is to present the role of cryptographic methods of information protection in countering the attacks of intruders in cyberspace.
